CAISO Selects Viridon for Major New Transmission Projects

The California Independent System Operator (“CAISO”) has announced the selection of Viridon to implement the New Humboldt–Collinsville and New Humboldt–Fern Road projects.

On a combined basis, the two projects comprise approximately 416 miles of 500 kV transmission line and the New Humboldt 500/115 kV substation in Northern California, which the Viridon team will finance, construct, own, operate and maintain. This new high-voltage infrastructure will support the integration of renewable energy and strengthen the region’s transmission grid.

“We are honored by CAISO’s selection and look forward to close collaboration with local communities and other key stakeholders on this vital project,” said Fanny Kidwell Langlois, president of Viridon California. “Together we are working to build California’s clean energy future.”
